Lukas Hummel

Hello, I'm Lukas.

I'm a flight attendant myself. A few words in someone's own language changes a whole flight for them, and I never had a good way to learn them between rotations — so I built one. I hope it makes your work a little easier.

What CrewLingo is

A vocabulary app for cabin crew. Not a general language course: it teaches 260 words and phrases that come up on an aircraft, in seven languages, and nothing else. Drinks orders, allergy questions, safety instructions, and the sentences you hope you never need — Is there a doctor on board?, Can you breathe?, Where does it hurt?

What it deliberately isn't

  • Not a language course. No conjugation tables, no grammar you won't use in a cabin. If you want to discuss politics in French, this is the wrong app.
  • Not for pilots or ICAO exams. It's for crew serving passengers.
  • Not medical training. It teaches the language for medical situations, not the procedure. Your airline's training always comes first.

Beyond the cabin

CrewLingo isn't my only app on the App Store. I'm also the developer of ProjectTimeTracker, a time tracker for iPhone and iPad, for freelancers, the self-employed and anyone with a project on the side. Start a timer per project and watch it run on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. A daily limit reminds you when it's time to stop, and reports by day, week, month or year export to Excel, PDF or CSV for invoicing and bookkeeping. No sign-up, just like CrewLingo.
